Who and where are the world's poorest and hungry people? Part II

Speaker: Akhter Ahmed, Senior Research Fellow, Food Consumption and Nutrition Division, International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI), USA

Part 2 of 2 (Link to Part 1)

"The dismally slow progress in reducing ultra poverty and the relative lack of success in reaching the very poorest clearly shows that business as usual is not good enough to reach the ultra poor. We must do something different. Interventions essential to helping the poorest move out of poverty would include improved access to markets and basic services, particularly in remote areas, provide insurance against health shocks, prevent child malnutrition, invest in education for those with few assets, and address exclusion of disadvantaged groups."
