New Strategies, Actions, and Ways Forward to End Extreme Poverty and Hunger in Main Developing Regions: Asia

The regional forums include not only participants from the respective regions but also some from other regions for transregional learning. They will address the following questions:
  • What are the regional dimensions of poverty and hunger and the key regional drivers of change?
  • What can we learn for the regions from case studies of interventions and approaches based on the themes raised earlier in the conference (fostering pro-poor growth, reducing vulnerability and enhancing social protection, and creating and enhancing assets of the rural poor)?
  • What can we learn from experiences in other regions about designing effective interventions in this region?
  • To what extent does successful action require effective strategies for scaling up programs, improving governance, fostering organizations of the poor and hungry, and developing capacity for social innovation and entrepreneurship?
  • What actions over what time are needed to actually end extreme poverty and hunger in the respective regions?
